What Is Mortar

Mortar is a workable paste used to bind building blocks together. (stones, bricks, and concrete masonry units) Mortar is a mixture of sand, a binder such as cement or lime, and water.

Mortar fill and seal the irregular gaps between the building blocks.
The word Mortar comes from Latin mortarium meaning crushed.

For construction purpose, different types of mortar are used.
